Notes From the Designer:

Rain is not common here in Saudi Arabia, but I dearly love the rain. I love the feeling, the smell, and the freshness that it brings. The idea for this pattern came to me one day as it was raining. It was evening, and the sun was setting. I looked out my window, and I saw the sunlight was shining through the raindrops that were dripping down from the eves of my roof. It made them look like pink diamonds dripping down from the sky to the ground below. I knew I had to create something to capture that magical moment in time.

  • Click here to learn how to begin, work the lace section, and work the i-cord BO.
  • The shawl starts with a modified garter tab cast-on, and finishes with an i-cord bind off.
  • There is a 4 st garter stitch border at the beginning and end of each row.
  • When working any decrease, keep the stitches on the tips of your needles. This will prevent them from becoming stretched out.
  • The shawl uses almost all of the 4 skeins. If you are a loose knitter, consider purchasing an extra skein to ensure you have enough yarn. Additional repeats of the lace section may be added, but it will affect the yardage needed.
  • Lace repeat is charted on page 7.
  • Stitch counts are given at the end of each row in lace section.
