The leafy branch of the fern is usually called a frond. The small leaflets that make up the whole frond are called pinnae.

With seed stitch accents and fern lace, this sweet doll dress was inspired by nature and vintage children’s clothing. A simple and relatively quick knit and worked in the round, I’ve rated this pattern AB, for Advanced Beginner.

This warm weather, tank- style dress is knit top down and different needle sizes are used for better fit and to make the fern lace nice and open. Blocking brings the lace patterning out to its full beauty.

This ensemble will fit dolls approximately 18 inches of height, and work well with a Waldorf style doll or an American Girl doll as well as many traditional type baby dolls.
