The roving in these mittens isn’t thrummed or knitted, but stranded behind the yarn, creating a pretty pinstripe on the outside and quilting on the inside.

Warm and neat, these mittens are sure to please, and the pattern includes a photo tutorial of the stranding technique.

The mitten has a basic construction, and should be considered easy by mitten knitters and intermediate by mitten novices.

Pattern is written for DPNs, but could be adapted to Magic Loop or knitting with two circulars by any knitter familiar with those techniques.
