PIXHAM is a relaxed-fitting top featuring braided stitches that run across the upper body. It is knitted sideways, flat and in pieces, while the trims are worked in the round. The braiding feature is worked using a crochet hook. It is designed to fit loosely and have an open fabric.

This project will suit a variety of yarn types or weights.

Using Fingering Weight Yarns: This top can also be worked using Fingering weight yarns held double. To achieve this, simply double the yarn amounts given in the Yarn Quantity below. Be mindful of your row gauge, as this may have an effect on the width measurement of the garment.

Finished measurement: XS: 39” (100cm) / S: 43.5” (110cm) / M: 47.25” (120cm) / L: 51.25” (130cm) / 1XL: 55.5” (141cm) / 2XL: 60” (152cm) / 3XL: 62.25” (158cm). It is designed to be worn loosely, with an average ease of 9” (23cm) around the bust and high hip area, and to sit at high hip.

Tools: 6mm (US 10) (or size required to get gauge) 80cm (32”) or longer circular needles; 1 needle of same size (for a 3-Needle Bind-off); 5mm (US 8) 80cm (32”) or longer circular needles; 6mm (US10) crochet hook for braiding; 1 stitch marker; enough waste yarn for provisional cast-ons. Other tools: Stitch holder or waste yarn (to hold sleeve stitches); long DPNs (optional), measuring tape and tapestry needle for seaming and weaving in ends.
