The Pixie Dreams Shawl is lightweight and fun, the perfect way to add a pop of color to any outfit. The pattern has a consistent rhythm for mindless crafting, but changes just enough to keep things interesting. It uses just one skein, so grab your favorite yarn and set out on a crochet adventure!

An eight-row repeat means the shawl is easily adjustable and can be worked to any size, and the pattern only uses sc, dc, and ch, making it accessible to an adventurous beginner. It’s designed to work with any colorway - the openness and lace prevent pooling and make the Pixie Dreams Shawl an excellent choice for variegated or busy speckled yarns, while the delicacy and details are perfect for helping a classic solid or tonal shine.

The two versions pictured are exactly identical except for the beginning, end, and center of the edging rows; one is slightly lacier and one is more solid. The pattern includes notes for both versions of the edging.

Gauge
9 rows = 4”/10cm measured down the spine. Gauge is not essential to this pattern as a shawl that is slightly larger or smaller will still fit nicely, and the shawl can also be easily adjusted to size.

Yarn and yardage
The pattern uses just one skein of Cozy Color Works Fingering, but can easily be adjusted to work with more/less yardage.
It works with any colorway - from variegated to solid - and is the perfect one skein wonder.
The pattern is designed for fingering but would work really well in anything from a lace up to a worsted.

Size
When gauge is met, 530yds/110g of fingering weight will net a shawl that has a wingspan of 48”/122cm and measures 28”/71cm down the back. Size can be customized by working extra/fewer repeats.

Edging
The changes on the edging are primarily at the center of the shawl. It’s two minor variations on the same basic idea and the pattern includes instructions for both.

Printing
Both a regular and printer friendly version are available! The regular version includes large photos on the first page and the last three pages, so print accordingly. For details on what the printer-friendly version includes, see this page. If you are working from the printer-friendly version and are having trouble with a pattern, I strongly recommend checking the regular version. The text will be easier to read and it might have more detailed instructions.
