Knit from the top down and sized as you go, gauge is fairly flexible for this hat. This is more of a recipe than a pattern, and was written for bulky weight yarn, but lighter weights could certainly be substituted. Because it is a top down pattern, it can be made for any size head- from newborn to adult.
