Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Fall 2007: “Cathy Payson frees cable panels from their traditional boundaries in her Placed Cable Aran, manipulating the classic honeycomb patern to create an elegantly spare yoke adornment. Rolled adges and a softly draping cowl neck mellow clean lines.”

Finished Size 34 (38, 41½, 45½, 49, 53)“ bust circumference.

Yarn: Naturally Harmony 10-ply (100% merino; 116 yd 106 m/50 g): #801 pale gray, 8 (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) skeins. Yarn distributed by Fiber Trends.

Needles: Size 8 (5 mm): straight and 16” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Cable needle (cn); stitch holder; marker (m); tapestry needle.

Additional Gauge: 12 stitches of cable panel is 2” wide

Construction The garment is knit flat and then seamed. Drop shoulder sleeves are also knit flat and seamed. Stitches are picked up around the neck to knit the cowl.
