Designer says: This simple hat is molded into shape while the fabric is wet, and keeps its shape once it is dry--A tactile process that reminds me of working with clay.

The hat is a basic cloche shape spiced up with short rows and pre-drying manipulation to create horizontal ridges.

This pattern calls for US 11 double pointed and 16” circular needles.

Note that the measurements given are for the outside circumference, not the inside. Inside measurements are not given. Radford also notes that “results will depend on felting conditions and time spent felting.”
Before felting: 22 (24, 26)“
After felting: 21 (23.5, 25)”
