A couple of years ago, I designed a cardigan with a large pleat in the center back and lace peeking through from underneath. I’ve wanted to revisit the idea of pleats, this time inverting them to let the lace take center stage. The silhouette of this cardigan was inspired by a dark, but bright, blue jacket with a pleated hem in the latest Chanel fashion show. I kept the dark-but-bright color theme with the lovely tonal fuchsia yarn from Swans Island; and in each pleat, I incorporated a dainty lace pattern that carries all the way up the sweater. With the interesting hem details and dramatic color, this sweater will be the highlight of any outfit.
