This simple pattern makes beautiful and elegant shawl. Rotation of the stockinette stitch makes the shawl pleated and reversible.

Fingering weight yarn is recommended for this pattern, it gives an elegant look and drapes nicely. Contrasting color with decorative lace pattern gives some charm to the shawl.

Solid colors preferred, since they expose the pleat. In multicolored yarns the pleat is hidden, but still drapes nicely.

300 yards of sock yarn or alpaca sports weight yarn – light color.
100 – yards of the same weight yarn - dark color.
