SKILL:
Intermediate - This hat is jammed full of cables! Over 450 cables actually! I don’t tell you this to scare you off (all the cables are really basic I promise) but so you can have bragging right when you show fellow knitters what you made!

YARN:
I highly recommend using animal fibres for this hat. You will need to block it to relax the cables - otherwise it will come out too small.

Hat - Approximately 135-150 yds (125-140 m) of bulky weight wool. Sample uses Patons, Classic Wool Bulky, in Natural Mix.

Optional Pompom - Approximately 30 yds (27 m) of bulky weight wool.Sample uses Patons, Classic Wool Bulky, in Spring Green.

GAUGE:
12 sts x 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stocking stitch, blocked with larger needles

NEEDLES:
US #11 / 8 mm and US #10.5 / 6.5 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

ADDITIONAL TOOLS:
Cable needle, 3 stitch markers (1 stitch marker should be different to indicate beginning of round)

FINISHED DIMENSIONS:
To fit an average youth/adult head
Approximately 18” (46 cm) unstretched / 22” (56 cm) stretched x 11” (28 cm) high

Pattern is fully charted and has complete written instructions.
