This pattern is for an 8” flat square with a raised plum tree design that is created through the use of cables or “traveling stitches” to create the branches, and bobbles to create the plums. The square has a seed stitch border. This project allows you to practice many knitting techniques, such as cabling in different directions, creating bobbles, increasing and decreasing stitches, reading a complicated chart, and knitting through the back loop.

The square could be sewn onto a pillow or combined with other squares to make a blanket or pillow cover.

In addition to the yarn and needles, you will need a cable needle.
