About the pattern

Plumpsoles is a pattern for kimono-style baby booties/slippers that lends itself to variation, enabling you to knit a pair that perfectly complements the wardrobe of the baby you knit for. In fact, you could knit several pairs, for Plumpsoles are quick to make and take only c. 20 g – 30 g of sport weight or DK yarn per pair, depending on size.

Plumpsoles are knit flat using garter stitch for the uppers and a morse stitch pattern for the sole. They are knit in one piece that starts with a provisional cast on and ends with a four-needle bind-off, making them an excellent way of learning or applying handy knitting techniques. The pattern contains video links and/or photos to help you with the key steps.

In addition to the materials shown above, you will also need a crochet hook (for the provisional cast-on), two stitch markers and a length of scrap yarn. You’re then good to go!
