These socks are the height of decadence frivolity. The originals were made for Stitched Science at the Science Museum London. They are fragile, incredibly soft are designed to make the knitter reconsider their feet as worthy of attention.

The original socks were coated pheromones to attract men, you can read about why this blog post.

This work was featured Craftzine 2011, you can read their feature here.

They are not practical at all take a long time to make (this took me 70 hours). What they did for the I think about my feet was well worth it though. The project aims to make women ruminate on their feet to build their confidence through considering their feet as desirable, worthy of luxury powerful, making these socks meant I thought about these issues every time I worked on them managed to totally change my opinion of my feet from really hating them to being totally happy with them.
