This 3D poinsettia flower cushion cover fits a 18-20” cushion inner and is crocheted with chunky yarn. The front of the cushion is crocheted in the round and the back is crocheted back and forth in two sections, which are overlapped for placing buttons. The front and back is then joined together by crocheting a Oxford Frill all around (there is no sewing involved). UK crochet terms are used throughout.

The main colour uses approximately 200g (300m) and you would need 100g each of the green and the red or cream (with yarn left over). You require a small amount of yellow or orange for the stamens. I knitted the cushions using King Cole Chunky, but any chunky yarn would do. Gauge is not really critical in this as you can crochet the front to fit the cushion inner you have on hand - just remember to crochet the front to be slightly smaller (1-2”) than the actual cushion inner. If you adjust the front of the cushion then remember that the back sts will need to be adjusted. The back pieces are crocheted to be slightly smaller than the front piece, to ensure a snug fit around the cushion inner so the cushion fits firmly.

The pattern is extensive and has some step by step photos to help with the crocheting of the 3D flower.
