This gorgeous pointy cowl comes in two sizes for adults that can also double up as a ponchos for children (the little girl wears a small).

The pattern has detailed written instructions for the whole garment and in addition the lace section is charted.

The pattern can be knitted by someone with a bit of experience of lace knitting but the pattern is relatively simple so you don’t need to be very experienced.
Stitches required: Knit, Purl, knit two together, knit two together through the back loops (SSK) and Yarn over.
Lace pattern is only on RS rows, making it simpler.

The project can be beaded if you like and a photo tutorial to ‘bead as you go’ is included.

Yarn requirements:
Small: You will need about 200m sock weight yarn or more than 200m of a heavier yarn. size will vary with yarn used.
Large: about 280m in sock weight yarn.

The cowls pictured are made in a soft drapey Baby alpaca silk and cashmere in a sock weight. I could have made two small cowls from a single skein.
