A polar bear standing up on his hind legs, 27cm tall. He is knit flat in two pieces then sewn together with only one seam.

You will need:

  • Cascade 220 yarn. Approximately 45g of White (8505) and a small amount of Black (8555) for sewing the eyes and nose.
  • 4mm (US 6) needles.
  • A small stitch holder.

  • Toy stuffing (about 30g).

Techniques you should be familiar with before using this pattern:

  • Lifted increases.
  • Decreases: k2tog, ssk, p2tog, ssp and centred double decreases (sometimes called s2kp2 or k3tog).
  • Sewing seams using mattress stitch.
