This garment has a very simple construction. Knit from side to side with stitches left on hold for the armholes and with no shaping instructions to impede the enjoyment of knitting away at this simple polka dot lace stitch. Even inexperienced knitters should have little trouble with this lace pattern. Once the body is completed, the armholes are attended to with the “after-thought” technique, explained (along with diagrams) within the pattern. This lacy stitched vest, worn open in the front, is knit with linen yarn making it a wonderful garment for the spring or summer. Meant to drape casually over the body, the two sizes given will fit many body types.

Level:
Knitters must know how to cast on, knit, and use DPN to knit in circles. The pattern includes a written description of the simple lace stitching techniques and a pictorial tutorial for creating the armholes.
