This pattern brings a 2-color brioche poncho & pelerine & shawl in attractive and fun form of a stylized leaf and 5 “peaks”, with big Victorian hood and front buttoning (double knitting selvedges). Something soft, warm, different… You can wear both sides, like two different items. It can be worn in several different ways. It’s a wide, comfortable poncho, one size fits to all in highly elastic work. You can wear it over a coat!

You need : 
  1. Skills: Solid basic/Intermediate brioche- knitting knowledge; double knitting; 3 sts I-cord;
  2. Needles:
    • A set of circular needles in US 7/4,5mm with one cord of 29-32” (80cm) and one cord of 60” (150cm); If you want a smaller size for girl 7-10 years, use needles in US 4 or 5 / 3.5-3.75mm;
    • An auxiliary hook (3,5-4mm) and tapestry needle for weave in ends;
  3. Yarns – shown poncho is made with:
    • 1 4/5 balls M(ain)C(olor) yarn (colorful, selfstripped, Alize angora gold 500m or 547yds /100g. In total ~900m or 985yds (180g);
    • 3 1/5 balls C(ontrast)C(olor) yarn (maroon, Alize superlana klasik, 280m or 307yds /100g). In total ~896m or 980yds (320g);
    • You can use any combination of yarns, tightly stranded, to your choice (MC yarn can be thinner than CC yarn), but keep an eye on the final weight!
  4. 20 stitch markers in two different colors – 10 in color 1 and 10 in color 2
  5. 6 buttons (3 on each side).
