This is the pattern for a 12” x 12” tapestry crochet piece depicting a pop-art portrait of Cleopatra in profile. It is a great housewarming gift, putting a twist on a classic piece. The bright colors really help it pop and it looks great in every room of the house You can also turn the tapestry portion into the front of a pillow or a piece in a sampler blanket with coordinating colors.

The piece is crocheted flat and then a border is added to stretch the piece around a canvas.

The pattern includes a crochet chart for the tapestry piece of the pattern and a written pattern for adding the border and attaching to a canvas.

Because of all of the color changes in this piece, I would call it an “intermediate” project for crocheters who have experience keeping their gauge consistent, which is important when changing colors often!
