The pattern is in written format and uses US crochet terminology. It is written in English. I would say it is easy as it uses single crochet, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet with no increases or decreases. There is a “how to” for the popcorn stitch.

The cowl will measure approx 23 x 88cm. It is very loose fitting so you could use aran/worsted yarn instead (with the appropriate
hook) to make a smaller version. You would need to make 4 or even 5 double crochets into the popcorn stitch if you use a lighter yarn than chunky.

I used a bit less than 150g yarn. You might get away with 100g (you could do one or two less rows of hdc in each hdc section).
