From the pattern description: I don’t normally gravitate toward novelty yarn, but the odd texture in this yarn intrigued me. To keep the focus on the yarn, I purposefully kept the stitch pattern and shaping simple-- I knitted a rectangle in garter stitch. But I just couldn’t keep myself from working the short ends (what would become the “cuffs”) on progressively larger needles to give them a little flair.

This project is shown on page 93 of Interweave Knits, Summer 2005. The pattern is NOT in the magazine, however. Readers are instructed to find instructions for this shrug as well as the other five designs on the website www.interweaveknits.com. Or send a long self-addressed stamped envelope to Shrugs, 201 E.
