Poppy

Knitting
February 2008
DK / 8 ply (11 wpi) ?
23 stitches and 29 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch using DK/8-ply
US 4 - 3.5 mm
437 yards (400 m)
Small, Medium, Large (7.25", 7.5", 8" circumference)

The mohair ruffles of these gloves are knit first in rows, then worked with the cuff stitches later. I think the ruffles resemble the delicate petals of a poppy after they have emerged from the bud. Block the ruffles when you have finished knitting to prevent them from curling up.

Yardage for main yarn, the Naturally Alpine 8-ply. Also asks for 1 ball (181 yards) of Naturally Mist for the cuff ruffles.
