Poppy's Garden
I am still enjoying explorations of crochet + knit. Again, the crochet does the colourful and intricate work, while knitting does the work of filling in spaces between hexagons plus the entire back, sleeves, and edgings.
While this piece looks challenging (and it was a challenge to draft), I have tried to limit its challenges in execution. The crochet work is pretty straightforward. And for the knitting, you only need follow the instructions while working either garter, or reverse stockinette, or the simple knit-and-purl stitch pattern. German short rows are used (and explained), and the proportions required for picking up and knitting or for seaming are offered in detail. In addition, lots of photos support the instructions.
Finished circumference at bust 40½ (45, 48½, 50½, 53½) (103 114, 123, 128.5, 136cm)
Finished circumference at hem 44½ (48½, 52, 54, 56½)” (113 123, 132, 137, 143.5cm)
Finished front length, shoulder to hem 29¾” (75.5m)
Total yardage for crocheted hexagons 380 (420, 510, 510, 535) yds (340 380, 460, 460, 480m)
Total yardage for MC 1150 (1280, 1320, 1540, 1590) yds (1035 1150, 1190, 1390, 1430m)
