noun | port·man·teau | \ port-ˈman-(ˌ) tō \

A linguistic blend of words in which parts of multiple words are combined into a new word.

Gray + Beige = GREIGE

If one can blend words to create a new word, why not colors?!

Using three distinctively different variegated or tonal yarns, this pattern guides you to blend them seamlessly, creating one sweeping, lovely movement.

Simply choose three skeins with ONE COMMON HUE (color),
but with similar WEIGHT in VALUE (lightness, darkness, or saturation).

A good way to judge if they will work well together is to use a filter on your camera to see them as black and white images. If they look similar and one is not much more dark or light than the others, they will blend beautifully.

Alternately, choosing one common hue and intentionally choosing a gradient of contrast weights will result in a stronger contrasting piece.
