The first week of the pattern release (until Tuesday, March 17th, 2020), all proceeds will be donated to An Open Book Foundation, a children’s literacy foundation that assists schools that don’t have enough books on their shelves, by bringing in authors and illustrators for writing and reading workshops and presentations. Each child gets to take home a signed book.

Looking over my vacation pictures from a family trip to Italy, I had forgotten how enraptured I was the elaborate doors I had seen in Venice, Florence and Rome. I was inspired to create a cowl that used colorwork to mimic the elaborate wood carvings.
