Once upon a time I was in a dark place. I designed a pattern to knit on the fly and called it Dark Times. Things looked up and Dark Times was set to one side to be written up and published later.

Then Jon at easyknits.co.uk put out some yarn to help us survive the Covid-19 lockdown. I bought some and decided to make a Dark Times shawl.

The pattern will work well with most fingering weight yarns. The original used Deeply Wicked variegated for the body and a fade braid for the lace edge. The shawl I’m working on now has a speckled body and a solid edge.
