This is a fully articulated giant Praying mantis based loosely on Stagmomantis carolina. The crochet part of this project is very basic, though the assembly is quite involved. There is a lot of written instruction to follow which requires dedication to complete. I have included over 50 photos to help, but do expect an intense project. The second time around it will be much easier.

This pattern is written to allow you to choose your own colors and accent colors. If that is confusing to you, please print the pattern and color-code the pattern with markers.

Designer’s note: 05/20 I have added a second document that includes the corrections of 2 TYPOS in this pattern. That is all of the errors I am aware of at this time, though I will admit that the pattern is rather complex but bugs are complex, aren’t they? There will be an update eventually. You can also see these corrections by following the errata link to the blog. I have included a replacement idea for the wooden dowel, as this proved to be problematic over time. Thanks.

This is a crochet pattern and not a finished item.
