Vintage pattern from the UK credited to Woman’s Weekly, 1947 and reprinted in this book.

Directions for one size are given. There are photos and a schematic giving basic measurements. Additional directions are included for making long sleeves.

The gauge is given for one 6-stitch pattern repeat of the all-over lace body pattern.

Three spherical buttons are crocheted and stuffed: they close the top back of the jersey. There is a button band.

The needles and hooks are given as old UK sizes:

Needles: one pair each of

  • No. 10 (US 4)
  • No. 12 (US 2)

Hooks:

  • No. 3 steel (1.25mm, US 8) for buttons.
  • No. 9 (3.5 mm, US E/4) for a crocheted chain at the yoke seam
