The beret can be worked as a regular size or as a slouchier beret. Instructions are included in the pattern. The hat can be worn as a regular beanie hat if it is not blocked over a dinner plate.

210/230 yards (50/60 g) fingering weight yarn

US 2/ 2.75 mm 16” circular needle
US 3/3.25 mm 16” circular needle & DPN
European Knitters: The pattern calls for U.S. 2 (2.75 mm) and U.S. 3 (3.25 mm) needles. Some countries do not have those particular mm size needles, use a 2.5 mm and a 3.0 mm needle instead.
