I wanted a quick to knit summer tunic type sweater that would look great in a summer yarn, and that would be great to wear over a pair of jeans or leggings. It is easy to short or to lengthen this sweater because it is knit from the top down.

I live in Southern California, where you can go surfing in the morning and then drive one hour into the mountains to go snow boarding in the afternoon. I prefer the beach to the snow, but in the mornings, the beach winds can be chilly!

Have you ever wanted to knit a skirt but didn’t because it seem so much work? Well, how about a swingy, flirty summer skirt that is knit at a 4 sts/1” gauge? The skirt features 4 very pretty lace panels and increases are worked throughout the skirt for an A-line figure flattering shape.

I love the look of vintage knits, especially from the 1940’s and 1950’s. However, most of them are worked at an incredibly small gauge and a size “XL”, back then, seems to be equivalent to a size “M” nowadays. I was inspired by a square neck vintage top that I saw and this is what I came up with.
