This shawl was originally designed for my Bluprint class, Modern Brioche Lace!

Provençal : an asymmetrical triangle shawl with an overall two-color brioche lace stitch pattern inspired by Provençal fabric, mimicking floral motifs and stripes.

Grab 4 skeins of fingering weight yarn for this fun Two-Color Brioche shawl! You will need 2 skeins of your Main Color and 2 skeins of your Contrast Color. Mix it up with 4 different colors, or even create your own fade!!

Skill level: Intermediate. Basic brioche skills are not required, but are recommended. Techniques used: knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases and decreases, asymmetrical shawl shaping.

Construction Notes: This asymmetrical triangle shawl is knit from tip to edge, with increases along one side. The stitch pattern within the shawl begins to grow almost at once, continuing on until you bind off. The shawl begins by working the stitch pattern as it is written, and as you progress through the sections, even Two-Color Brioche is worked between each increase row and corresponding even row to open up the pattern and create diversity and texture within the shawl. This is a great way to see how one stitch pattern can change drastically by adding additional rows of even brioche in between pattern repeats.

The pattern is both written and charted for your convenience!
