There’s nothing as cozy as stepping out of the shower onto a thick, soft, absorbent cotton bath mat. This one has its cushioning built right in, with an easily memorize-able pattern taken from Barbara Walker’s A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, Schoolhouse Press, 1998.

This comfy bath mat looks impressive, but is super-quick, affordable, and easy to make -- perfect to start your holiday gift knitting. Because it’s easy to launder, this mat could also work very well as a comfortable pad for a baby-changing table.

The mat is worked in doubled worsted-weight cotton yarn and bordered with a simple crocheted picot edging. Given in two sizes.
