Featuring tapered ends and a reversible garter rib pattern, this scarf is suitable for advanced beginners. With neat edges that blend seamlessly into the fabric, this pattern allows for easily customizable length and width, adapting to any yarn you choose. This pattern has an easily memorised 4-row repeat, with centred increases/decreases to neatly shape the pointed ends.

Use a fingering, sport, or even any yarn of your choice, and pick needles to match, making a soft and supple fabric that you’ll love wrapping around your neck.

Instructions on how to use a limited amount of yarn (such as a single skein) included.

Samples made with 40gm fingering weight, 2.75mm needles (green) and 50gm sport weight, 3.25mm needles (pink).

The scarf takes its name from Pukepapa Road in New Zealand’s Rangitikei district. This straight road gently rises and falls, echoing the undulations of the surrounding farmland.
