This pattern is written in standard American (US) terms, in English language, 11 pages of step-by-step instruction and plenty pictures, for succesfull completing of your work. Needed material:

• fine/ sport/ 12 wpi yarn/ 12 ply
• hook 4 mm / US G and hook 3 mm
• tapestry needle
• common sewing thread and needle
• 1 piece of wooden natural heart button about 21 mm tall
• 2 pieces of buttons average 33 mm (colors are up to you,I used orange and bright pink)
• small piece (about 14 cm) of pompom trim average 11 mm
• toy filling
• small pieces of ribbon 3/8 wide, enough just for making one bow
• 1 piece of thin chenille wire 5 mm in diameter
• beads mix – I used Toho beads average 4 mm - beads size 6/0 and 4/0, cubes 6/0. I used two white • beads for an eyes and some green cubes and bigger beads for embellishment of the hat.

I used this yarn:
mixture of cotton and acrylic Kacenka by Nitarna Ceska Trebova
Yarn weight: Sport 5 ply / (12 wpi)
Yardage: 164 yards (150 meters) per 50g ball

I used these colors: 2254 orange – 1 ball/ 50 g, little amount of 3454 pink, 1164 yellow, 1134 light yellow, 7134 camel, 6954 khaki green, 0010 white and 7994 dark brown. You will need about 70 g of totally /approximately 233 yards.

I used a hook 4 mm, worked with two threads of yarn.
I also used hook 3 mm, when I was worked only with one thread of yarn

TIP: You could also use worsted yarn, hook 4 mm and work with one thread of yarn only. The dimension of finished owl will be a little bit different. Instruction is written for using two threads of sport yarn. So if you will use another type of yarn, please adjust it.

Tip for alternative material: you could use e.g. Jeans renamed in 2016 as Gina by Yarnart, Softfun by Scheepjeswool, Cotton Blend by Red heart, they all are very similar as Kacenka.

Dimension of finished owl: my owl is approximately 5.5 inches/14 cm tall (measured without the hat, approximately 4.5 inches/11.5 cm width – but it depends of the amount of toy filling. Please remember, that the size of finished owl depends on used material and your own style of crocheting also.

You should know, how to crochet: Chain (CH), Slip stitch (SlSt), Single crochet (SC), Half double crochet (HDC), Double crochet (DC), Increasing (inc): 2 stitches in same stitch
