Pumpkin Pie (Pi) Shawl is a cozy, warm--hued shawl inspired by the Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi shawl formula. Instead of being completely round, this shawl drapes snuggly around the shoulders, in delicious pumpkin colors. The knitting is easy to work, with charts, as well as written directions. You knit this back and forth on a circular needle, with fingering weight yarn. Then, the outer edge is worked sideways, and knitted together with the live stitches on the needle. And for a simple finishing touch, you pick up stitches at the top and work a garter stitch border using all your colors, then, work a stretchy bind off.

There are different stitches in this pattern that are used, such as p2tog tbl, yo’s, ssk, and k2tog, p2tog. The key in the pattern for the charts will tell you what the stitches are to be used.
