This loop and Moebius pattern is the latest addition to my series of explorations of lace + texture. Worked in an Aran weight yarn, the cozy knit/purl texture dominates; scattered eyelets provide a hint of lace. The reversible pattern means you never have to worry that the wrong side is showing.

Specific instructions are provided for a long simple loop and a short Moebius loop, with samples worked in two quite different Aran weight yarns—one refined, one rustic—at slightly different gauges. The long loop sample is shown in Plucky Knitter Primo Aran (2 skeins of Cabaret); the shorter Moebius sample is shown in Imperial Yarn Columbia (1 skein of Canyon Shadow). Also included are notes on customizing the pattern to make a plain or Moebius loop in a different size or yarn weight.

Pattern instructions are given in both charted and written form. Skills needed for this easy textured eyelet pattern include the following: casting on (with Moebius cast on for the Moebius version - link to tutorial given in pattern), binding off; working in the round; knit, purl, knit two together, ssk, and yarn over.
