Puppies or Butterflies, try them both as they are both included in this pattern. The motifs as well as the grass are charted for stranded knitting. The butterfly antennas and flowers are added with simple French knots embroidery, while the puppy collars are made with a few very easy stitches.

Each hat has it’s own topper: a frilly flower top for the butterfly hat and a playful ball for the puppy hat.

Materials: Scheepjes Catona fingering weight cotton yarn, 25g/68yd balls. You’ll need 1 ball of brim/grass color, 1(1,2,2) balls of main hat color, and one ball each for motif and accent colors. Size 2 needles; 16” circular and double-pointed. OR size to get gauge. Tapestry needle. Tiny bit of fiber fill or scrap yarn bits to stuff ball on puppy hat.

Gauge: 32 stitches & 40 rows = 4”

Sizes: Preemie-Newborn, (Newborn-6 mos., 6-12 mos., 1-2 years)
