Jacket is worked in a luxurious but economical pure silk Tussah Tape, available in Natural and selected hand-dyed shades direct from Sarah Durrant. The recommended yarn provides for a fabulous drape, and feels heavenly against the skin.

Pattern is written in 3 sizes to suit bust 86-91cm (34/36”), 97-102cm (38/40”) and 107-112cm (42/44”).

Jacket back is worked in stocking stitch, with the fronts and sleeves in Ladder Stitch. The Ladder Stitch pattern has been devised so that when a designated stitch is dropped it will ladder down only until it is stopped by a yarn forward of a prior row. The fabric then becomes quite organic as the stitches around the ladderstsrt to move and enlarge as they take up the excess yarn from the ladder.

The extended fronts may be tied at centre front, left open to drape, or wrapped and fastened. Sleeve is gently flared with a notched detail at the seam.

A picot trim in crochet finishes outer edges.

The pattern for the matching sleeveless top may also be found in Knit: Handmade Style
