Purple Africa is texture-filled, lace shawl inspired by my
cousins’ journey to Zambia to study animals. Its’ “One size fits all” can be knitted up in one colour, but with two different coloured skeins the textures can truly show the vibrancy and life of Africa. If the edging is done in a slightly lighter yarn the shawl looks daintier and will drape beautifully. Purple Africa looks wonderful in any colour-way from solid to variegated yarns, although the lace giraffes stand out more in a solid or semisolid. This is the perfect project for someone who loves knitting something fresh and stylish. It is absolutely a conversation piece.

Purple Africa is my first design I have shared. I had a fantastic time writing and knitting the pattern. Thank you to my mum and my knitting friends. I couldn’t have completed it without your love a support! <3
