This design was inspired by my purple velvet plant. I just love the texture of the leaves and the rich color. I love Misti Alpaca Brush yarn for this applique design. The yarn has a wonderful soft, velvety quality that looks like a rich mohair but without the itch. Sorry, the clear beads for the button and the edging didn’t photograph well.

This is two patterns in one. The pillow front is knit in stockinette, the texture on the back is a variation of seed stitch. The second pattern is the Crochet Beaded Cord which is used for the outer edging and center button. I love pillows for home decorating and as gifts. They are a great way to experiment with texture without committing to a larger garment.

The pillow is worked in several pieces and easily assembled at the end. Basic sewing skills required to attach the button and the trim. Care instructions are spot wash and air dry.
