What do you mean, that’s crocheted? It looks knitted!

This beanie is crocheted using the waistcoat stitch - which is the perfect stitch to mimic the look of knitted fair isle work. I’d say this pattern is suitable for intermediate level (or adventurous beginner) crocheters.

The beanie shown was crocheted using Isaac’s colorways merino blend in Forest and Ivory. It is literally the perfect yarn for crocheting in waistcoat stitch. You will use less than a full skein of each color.

Instructions include pictures to illustrate techniques and a graph of the kitty pattern if that’s easier for you to follow than the written.

You will need stitch markers for this project, also.

NOTE
Ravelry’s drop down list of crochet hook sizes list a G hook as 4.00mm. My G hook is 4.25mm. I don’t expect that to make a huge difference but felt it was worth mentioning.
