The easiest cowl/neckwarmer you will ever make, seriously. It’s that “I don’t want to think about anything right now, but I do want to knit” pattern. Great beginner project for sure.

Easy to make larger or longer, just add as many more stitches you’d like (keep it an even number), and continue knitting past the count in the pattern for added length. The neckwarmer IS a bit on the cozy/snug side, so adding 10-20 stitches would work swell. If you wanted to go up or down a size in yarn and needle that would work too, just make sure to add more stitches if you go with worsted and a size 9 needle.
Pattern calls for a size 10 - 24” circular, but you could totally fit all the stitches on a 16” if that’s all you have.
Premier’s Puzzle yarn does all the work for you as far as color changes. It’s a marled yarn, makes for a really nice fade. There are long blocks of one color which you may or may not like. It’s on the “lighter” end of bulky (5).
If you are using an animal fiber yarn the cowl will grow a little bit after washing or blocking and won’t be as snug. You may want to consider taking away an even number of stitches to account for that
Happy knitting!
