  • Pyla came on my needles when a Peruvian friend of mine told me she was pregnant with a little boy. It was some time since I wanted to pay tribute to the fantastic tradition of Peruvian knitting, and as baby hats are always welcome and useful presents, the project was settled!

  • Pyla is a modern and synthesized version of the iconic Andean hat. In order to suit the modern baby, the traditional intarsia frieze is replaced by a textured work, and a chevron brim remind of the gone earflaps. Finally, to give more comfort to the garment, the ever-present pompoms are displaced from the neck to the top of the head.

  • Knitted in the soft Coast by Mabel & Ivy, a blend of cotton and lambs wool, it’s the perfect summer companion for the little ones.
