This is a non-symbolic triangle hat. No particular meaning attached—just a hat with some triangles on it. And a few bonus diamonds too (but really we all know those are just two triangles next to each other).

This hat uses stranded colorwork technique and is worked in the round. It comes in two sizes: small, which produces your typical slouchy hat (pictured in blue and pink), and large, which is extra tall (pictured in teal and tan). The two sizes both have a finished circumference of 20” (24” stretched); the only difference is in the length of the hat.

Materials:

  • size 1 16” circular needle
  • size 2 ((or size needed for gauge) 16” circular and DPNs
  • stitch marker
  • Knit Picks Palette (or another similar fingering weight yarn) in two colors:
    • large size uses 2 balls of MC and 1 of CC
    • small size uses 1 ball each of MC and CC
