Quartzite is a chic crescent shaped shawl knit top-down with simple repeats and evenly spaced garter ridges creating the appearance of preserved layers of sandstone. It is finished with a knitted-on border that mimics the movements deep within the earth that cause sandstone to convert to quartzite over very long periods of time. Quartzite is as sophisticated to wear as it is tranquil to knit!

Finished Dimensions are 17 inches down the center back and 40 inches from the bottom of the center back to the tips.

The main body of the shawl is knit in a combination of knit and purl rows creating garter ridges. The edging is a simple knitted-on border with all wrong side rows being purled. Quartzite is a great knit for both experienced lace knitters and adventurous beginners!
