Yarn: Tosh Merino Light by Madelinetosh (100% merino, 420 yards), one skein
Recommended Needles: 5 mm, US size 8, or whatever needle will give you the fabric you like.
Gauge: approximately 4 stitches to an inch. Exact gauge is not critical to this project, but it may affect how much yarn you use.
Beads: 24 grams of size 6/0

Techniques required: Chart reading, increasing and decreasing, lace, beadwork.

Notes: Your shawl has a garter stitch border consisting of two stitches on either side. These four stitches will be included in the directions for the first row, but they will not be included in any subsequent stitch counts unless otherwise specified.

You will want two stitch markers. Always slip markers as you come to them.

This pattern has been written using beads. Instructions for working nupps instead are not included, but would certainly look lovely if you choose to go that route. If you desire to do so, keep in mind that your yardage may vary.

The amount of yarn required for this project was rather tight. If your gauge is not exact, you may desire an additional skein.
