Queenslander is a scrappy toe-up slipper-sock inspired by the lace trims of traditional Queenslander houses. It is knit toe-up using magic loop, with a standard short row heel and a 1x1 ribbed cuff.

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large). Sample shown in size medium.

Finished Measurements: Foot circumference: 7.5 (8.5 9.4) inches

A note on sizing: Colorwork socks tend to not have any stretch, so it’s crucial that the sock be wide enough for your heel to pass through. You may want to consider knitting the circumference a bit larger than you are used to when knitting more elastic, non-colorwork socks. If you’d like, you can simply add 4 stitches to your usual stitch count, as the colorwork chart is a repeat of 4 st.

Gauge: 23 sts = 4”/ 10cm in stockinette stitch. If your yarns come from different brands, gauge may vary slightly from stripe to stripe.

Needles : US 4/ 3.5mm (or size required to meet gauge) 32” circulars for magic loop

Yarn : Worsted weight yarn in various high-contrast colors for a total of up 200 yards /482 meters. Sample shown used 113g of Garnstudio DROPS Nepal, approximately 185 yards for size medium.
