One of my grandchildren called recently and asked me to make “bed socks” for her cold feet at night. I whipped these up using some leftover yarn. They are a quick and easy knit, and make a perfect gift for cold weather sleeping.

These are tube socks, knit with no reinforcement in the heel or toe, and are meant to be worn in bed and in cozy slippers. The pattern includes yardage and instructions for making medium and large socks. The ribbing gives them enough stretch to cover a variety of women’s and men’s sizes. For reference, the model is wearing a medium. She is 5’ 5” and wears a size 7 shoe.

Yarn: Heavy Worsted. Approximately 200 yds for medium, (300 yds for large). Needles Size 7, double points or long circulars for magic loop. Makes 2.
