The Quilted Planet Shawl is a top down shawl that is semi-circular in shape, and features the Royal Quilting Slip Stitch followed by a garter chevron at its border. The body of the shawl is garter stitch and is worked in alternating variegated stripes to add interest to its simplicity. I used 2 different coordinating variegated skeins of yarn to make this shawl, and also knit it in fingering weight. However, any 2 complimentary colors of yarn, and any weight from fingering to worsted would work well with this pattern. My total yardage used for the shawl was 635, but you could easily alter the pattern simply by doing less repeats in the quilted slip stitch section and/or the chevron border section. My shawl measures 19 inches at its deepest center point, and about 5 foot 10 inches from chevron point to chevron point across the bottom edge.
